Andrew Leyden, a freelance photographer who posts frequently on X as @PenguinSix, indicated on Thursday morning that police had responded to a call at Barrett\u2019s home on Wednesday night, \u201cbut quickly realized it was a swatting call\u201d and left \u201cafter meeting with her security detail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/americanservicereview.com\/?p=92\">Supreme Court sides with death row inmate in challenge to racial discrimination in jury selection<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Police in Fairfax County, Virginia, outside Washington, D.C., confirmed the incident in a statement to the National Review.<\/p>\n<p>Leyden\u2019s post on X included audio from the police department, which he said had been redacted under media guidelines intended to reduce copycat incidents. The audio noted that the address had \u201c24-hour security coverage for a high-priority resident of the county.\u201d An officer then reported that he had \u201cmade contact with security that\u2019s on scene\u201d at the house and the security detail hadn\u2019t \u201cheard anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/americanservicereview.com\/?p=90\">How often do courts actually cite emergency docket orders?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The justices have had around-the-clock security since at least 2022, when the leak of the court\u2019s draft decision in <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em>, which would overturn the constitutional right to an abortion recognized in\u00a0, led to protests outside several of the conservative justices\u2019 homes, including Barrett\u2019s. In June of that year, a California man was arrested and charged with attempting to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his home in Maryland.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Barrett\u2019s sister, who lives in South Carolina, was the target of a bomb threat.
